Missing M Already!

I took M to the airport today so that he could fly to St. Louis for a business trip. It’s the first time we’ve been apart since we got married almost two years ago! I miss him so much and it’s only been a few hours. In fact, I was starting to tear up this morning before we even left for the airport. I feel like a bit of a lovesick fool… {How fitting that I’m listening to Jason Reeves’ album called The Lovesick. Check out his music. It’s so good.}

Because M is super-sweet, last night he decided we should go see Hunger Games before he left. So he took me out for a date night and {of course} I really liked the movie!

This afternoon, I was already missing him so I was so glad that my friend Danielle kept me entertained by being my dinner date and then took me shopping. She was a great distraction me from my evening alone. She’s fantastic. I’m so grateful for my friends!

Sadly, M doesn’t come home until Sunday. I have a feeling I’m going to be blog-whining {a lot} over the next couple of days about how much I miss him!

So Much To Say!

It has been an eventful weekend! It started off on Friday, when my boss asked me to come into his office for a talk… and I ended up with an 8.9% pay increase! Not too shabby.

Then after we got home from work that night, we hopped online to check flights we’ve been watching… and finally decided it was time to book them. So we are officially going to Europe May 5th – 22nd!! I am SO excited! Here’s the game plan:

I’m sure I’ll post tons of updates as we figure out the plans in more detail. Right now, we only have the flights from the U.S., so there is still lots to figure out.

But there is one detail we do know {and, to me, it’s the most important detail about this trip}… We have tickets to the last Tottenham football game of the season! Come on you Spurs!!

As much as I tease M for his football obsession, I am the one that is crazy excited for this game. It will be my first real live Premier League game and I am looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere. We watch a fair amount of football in our home and it will be so awesome to be there and see it all in person.

Of course, the things like Gareth Bale’s lightening speed…

But especially all the crazy fans…

Overall, I’m really excited to spend some time in London and see the world where M grew up. This trip will be fantastic!

Pinterest Loving

I tried to jump on the Pinterest bandwagon. I really did. I wanted to fit in with so many of my friends. But I tend to get a bit bored with it. So when I found this, I thought it was hilarious because it seemed to be a perfect assessment of why my friends love Pinterest. Thank you, Pinterest, for providing so many with an escape from reality.

175,000 Miles!

{Apologies. It’s kinda hard to take a decent photo in bad lighting while driving 65 mph…}

But yes, it’s true… our cute little car hit his 175,000 mile mark! I’m so proud of him. He’s getting so grown up! 14 years old and still going strong. Isn’t he handsome?!

Happy Birthday Brandon

Little brother’s birthday. The big 2-3!!

I can’t believe he is getting that grown up! And I’d say that I hope he had a great day… but considering that this was his face opening presents, I feel that he definitely had a fantastic day.

Oh, and in case you are curious, that face came after he opened this awesome gift we found for him…

Bazinga! Happy 23rd birthday Brandon!!

Love Love Love

This week was Valentine’s Day!

Although I think it’s an overrated holiday because I'm of the understanding that we should do nice things for the ones we love every day... but with that said, M was still my super sweet Valentine and we had an excellent holiday!

I had come home from work early to make some treats for M. Homemade truffles! And I teamed up with my friend Brittani who made mini cheesecakes. Yum!

Then M came home from work with roses for me! And we exchanged gifts.

While I’d been out shopping for his gifts, I found this card that was just perfect! I loved it so much that it even made me giggle out loud in the store! Because it’s HUGE!! As you can tell with it sitting next to a wrapped Toms shoe box or the bags of Dove chocolate…

Perfect!

Now we now have sooo much chocolate and candy in our house!

Oh, and now we have this game, Bananagrams, that we love!

And then we got to stick with a tradition we have. For our third Valentines Day in a row, we made homemade pizzas! Here is M’s…

And here is mine!

Somehow, he always manages to do things classier than I do! But then I managed to turn mine into a heart and pretend I did it to be romantic…

Mmmm… candlelight {heart-shaped pizza} dinner!

This was our best Valentines yet! I love M. And am so glad we have the rest of forever to spend together!

Happy Presidents Day

{We may or may not have become a little obsessed with someecards.com at work lately…}

 As for the holiday, I did nothing political or presidential today. But it was nice to have a day off. Hopefully everyone else had a lovely holiday as well!

The Super Bowl

Not gonna lie, the game of football bores me. {My friend Jen calls today’s event “the Stupid Bowl.” Pretty accurate in my mind!} But adding friends and food to the game of football and it’s way more fun! We had a Super Bowl party at our house and it was fantastic!

Oh, congrats to the Giants on their win. But more importantly—this is us during the game. Aren’t we cute?!

Although I’m totally clueless to the sport, it was fun to watch the game {a.k.a. talk during the game and just watch the commercials} with a group of friends! These are our cute friends:

Brady and Kiera.

As well as our friends from church, Randy and Brittani.

And Scott and Lauren.

Not only was it great to have our friends over, but everyone also contributed to the essential table full of deliciousness {a.k.a. junk food!} including a freakin’ awesome spinach dip and some super tasty blondies … Yum!

{Yeah, M may or may not have thought my taking photos of everyone and everything during a football game was slightly embarrassing. Oops!}

I may or may not have been playing Words with Friends during the actual game. But don’t worry, I stopped to watch the commercials!

Thanks to our friends for spending the afternoon with us!

Snowboarding

I’d ask you to guess what we did today, but the title kind of gives it away…

That’s right—we went snowboarding! It was awesome!! Because we haven’t had much snow this year, this was our first time this season. I finally got to use my new boots. They are fantastic!

M got to try out his new snowboarding pants from Christmas. They’re red. And I love them. He’s so easy to find anywhere on the mountain while still looking hot.

Yay for snowboarding!
